Any guesses as to what he'll propose? Some form of amnesty Im guessing. And this bill will be soundly ignored defeated yet again. Which makes me think this is just to distract people from the spending debate, inflation, and stagnating economy.President Obama plans to unveil a “blueprint” on Tuesday of what he wants Congress to include in a comprehensive immigration reform bill, according to senior administration officials.

Take a good hard look, it's coming.
"Laser like" focus on jobs...

The "Papers Please" legislation was over the top. However, their newest bill makes sense. The only other piece of legislation that we need to seriously punishing laws putting business owners that use immigrant slave labor out of business for good. It should include a mandatory 10 year prison sentence along with it.
Targeting the immigrants themselves is foolish. If you want to stop illegal immigration take away the incentive to jump the fence by making it almost impossible for anyone who owns a business to hire illegals.
A good place to start would be requiring all contractors applying for work permits to submit their employee records including the fingerprints and SS numbers of their laborers. If they do not match up, the contractor loses his business, goes to prison and the immigrants get sent back to wherever they came from with a nice little brochure explaining the rules the need to follow for getting into the country legally.
I agree with the first paragraph, but definitely disagree with the second.
All parties involved should be stomped into a shitty mudhole. Period. If someone is here illegally, there has to be a consequence for that. If all we do is ship them back to wherever they came from with a brochure, well, that's hardly an incentive to invest the time and money it would take to come here legally.
We should have prisons specifically for illegals. They wanna' eat? Grow some food. Get sick? Better hope there's someone in prison with you who used to be a doctor in Honduras. THAT would be a serious incentive to invest the time and money it would take.
You want to coddle illegals. What you fail to realize is that, until we start shit-hammering them for being here, they will comtinue to come here...
I never understand this type of criticism.
Sure, Pres. Obama said he was committed and focused on improving the job situation but does that mean everything else suddenly comes to a stop? Why do political hacks do this? If I tell my wife before bed that I need to run to the store tomorrow and when I wake up I take a piss first, does that mean I lied to her? I just don't get it.
Said what? That he's focused on the economy?
Of course he is and I have little doubt that it doesn't monopolize a large portion of his time but that doesn't mean he shouldn't address other issues which need addressing. Let's be realistic here: You're just criticizing him for the sake of criticizing him. There's no real meat to the criticism.
Sadly nothing will happen as long as there are states such as NY and CA, just to name 2, that turn blind eyes.... add to that of federal levels that opening say "they will do what they want and to hell with the federal laws"... with both those attitudes, nothing will ever be fixed.
Fuck Gold...invest in guns, ammo, survival guide...you and your family will need them.
Mark Levin for President !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly! No amount of legislation, border patrols, fences, risk of incarceration, etc; is going to keep poor immigrants from trying to get here if the know that if they are able to somehow get in safely.... they will be able to get some kind of income. Desperate people will take that risk and many will succeed. In order to stop this... the final reward of the job needs to be taken away so that the risks are no longer worth it.
It's easy enough to fix. Want a job... get a national ID with proof of employment eligibility a requirement for getting that national ID. Need to hire a worker? Punch their national ID into the network... get instant photo verification that the person you are hiring matches the person on file for that ID. Hire someone without verifying that identity? Pay a huge fine. Basically just add photos to our existing social security cards.... and put those photos online in a national database for employers to compare. The simplest, most cost effective solution to illegal immigration... and one that will never happen because business will not allow it. They'd lose their ultra cheap, tax free labor.
Oh, stop. What you're saying is downright foolish.
Making something a priority and making something the *ONLY* thing a person focuses on are two completely different things. The economy is certainly a priority for Pres. Obama and every single politician in the Senate and House - including Republicans. That doesn't mean it's the only thing they're working on though and while it's a priority for pretty much every U.S. citizen that also doesn't mean it's the only thing U.S. citizens want to see handled.
