I like having images in my mind of where I want to end up, and then take steps to get there. I like the way the Canada/USA border works. Europe is going in that direction too, and the whole world is toying with loosening their borders. For all of us to want a USA/Mexico border like the USA/Canada border is not a bad thing. That really is the end game for all of us.

I am curious: what problem do you have with Mexicans being able to earn a living in Mexico, so they choose to stay there?

Please read this it my idea of how to solve illegal immigration.

I believe that the United States needs to put a giant wall that goes from one side of the Mexican boarder all the way to the other side of it. It should be 25 feet above ground, 10 yards wide, and 40 feet below ground, 5 feet wide. it should be made of concrete and steel. It should have 2 look out posts side by side every 900 yards in one have a man looking out for people trying to cross the boarder and give him a Remington 700 sniper rifle in the other have a man shooting a mounted minigun.

Have three places in every state along the boarder were you can go in and out of Mexico. At each place have two line were vehicles can go in to Mexico and two line were vehicles can enter the United States. Also have a place were people can walk into Mexico and a place were people ac walk into the United States. Make the guards there check every vehicle and every person for contraband, and make sure that they have boarder ID card that shows every thing about them. Another thing is they need to fill out a form telling were there going way and for hoe long. People on business trips cant stay over six months and people on vacation cant stay over three. then put that in a computer and if they don't go back through by then find them and send them back to there country. And they cannot go across the boarder over three time a month.

Then get on the phone with Mexico and tell them we are tired of all the illegal immigration and put up a 350 yard minefield only leaving a road to get to the crossing and a two string horse wire fence around it and a sign every 200 yards saying in caps like this "DO NOT ENTER. MINEFIELD. YOU WILL DIE". And if any smart but tries to probe there way through it kill them.

By now you are wondering how I plan to pay for all this. Well I think that instead of burning or storing drugs that are found through the boarder patrol sell it. to whom you ask well Africans in exchange for gold, and if not that the back to the Mexican cartels. I know that sounds bad but once you get the hole thing belt and establish then you can go back to burning or storing.

Another big thing that will come from this other than no more illegal immigration is jobs. That's correct jobs because somebody has to build the thing, and the more people with jobs the better the economy. And if you can get all the illegal immigrants out of the United State then that means less people the government has to pay to do nothing.

So add to his idea ... one short-sight like this doesn't obviate the idea... It suggests it needs some work.

This horse has been beaten beyond death. As long as business hire illegals and get away with it a fence will do no good.

Most imigrants say its too expensive and complicated to get into America legally. How complicated and expensive was it to come to America as an irish/polish/ittalian imigrant? It meant you had to get on a boat. Thats about it.

But the right dont want legal citizens, they want to just get rid of half the population of Mexicans because they dont like looking at them, thats the real truth.

As for the fencing off the ocean our right it can not be don, but as Good1 said we do have a coast guard and patrolling the water every day would give them something to do. Also every beach could have a so called fence all the way around it with guards posted to watch it all night and have only so many places that you can go in and out and have guard posted there checking everybody. And if you had police officers on boats doing daily patrols checking random boats for illegal immigrants and drugs. That would also help give jobs to people because we would need more officers. As for the illegal immigrants that are already here have every police officer go up to every mexican and ask them for there ID wether it be one showing that there from America or the ID and papers that they git when they crossed the border (like the once I talk about in my first post). If they have an American ID then tell them thank you sorry for your troubles or the ones that they got from the border. If they don't have them sent them back to county that they came from. I know that is profiling and that profiling is wrong but that is the only way to do it, and i fill bad saying that but that is the only way. As the Irish, Polish, and Italian people go I don't think it was right for them to be able to just come over here a be an American citizen and that goes for all people that did that. Im sorry that a think that but as bad as it has gotten those are the only ways I can think of dealing with this situation. sorry

why not just have 2000 miles 'o high explosive mines? have lots 'o nice, big, readable signs that are lit at night, and have a quarter mile swath 'o mighty land mines dotted everywhar in that quarter mile.

ye can have a few checkpoints and only thar would ye find safe passage.

Of course a fence will do good. Securing the border is normally a pretty important responsibility of the government. You don't secure a border by trying to shut down the underground economies resulting from poor border security. You secure the border - goes to state sovereingty - basic stuff.

This is not analogous to the "war on drugs".

at four hundred dollars per ounce (i burn through about an two ounces per month), i be very concerned about the high prices that i pay, actually...and even at that price, the utter scarcity 'o the fine herb. if it were up to me, i'd have the taxpayers build a highway whar vehicles would travel with the freedom and haste that ye see on the Autobahn from Mexico to me front door, so i could have fresh and sticky and pungent herb, flecked with bits 'o maroon and gold, sped right to me quarters. nothin' would make me happier.

Like with most things, the border problem[s] would have been taken care of decades ago if it didn't benefit somebody somewhere that politicians listen to.
