I really can't believe that I would need to point this out to people but kicking the wealthy out or abusing them with taxes is about as stupid as it gets.

This Savarin guy is going to be hanging out in Singapore and not paying a dime of income tax on his capital gains. Meanwhile he's going to be pissing money into the economy by buying property, food, indulgences, etc. The people that he's buying that stuff from are going to become somewhat more prosperous and they are going to pay taxes on their income. Singapore is also going to collect property taxes and sales taxes and so forth on the stuff that Savarin buys. They will be getting something out of him. Meanwhile, here in the good old USA, we're getting absolutely bumpkis out of him because we decided that if we couldn't get "what's fair" then we'd be satisfied - gleeful, in fact - with getting nothing. Doesn't that strike anyone as being more than a little bit stupid?

You're too smart to think they'd abandon the US given the black and white choice of US or elsewhere, at least for a few years.
I know the portfolio folks would crap in their pants for a week or two but their stock is fiat anyway.

I think we would be a better country without his type. Money isn't everything ... hell he could spend billion here while molesting little children ... so I think its important to have a sense of perspective about his contribution. A world without nationalism and I would not give a shit ... but I was raised American and think traitors are best left outside our borders, right where he wants to be, but still running his business in the US market.

How many locations does Facebook have and what type of infrastructure management is required?
Taxation should be local first, state second, fed last.

Whatever the tax rate is for such offerings ... I've no idea how much that is or how much the PO will pull in. If its zero then take zero.

Even if you ignore the billions of dollars that will pour into state and federal coffers directly and indirectly from the hugely profitable company he co-founded which employees thousands of people in good paying jobs, Eduardo Saverin will *still* end up paying a fortune in taxes despite only being 30, only being a naturalized citizen for about a decade, and not having lived here in years.

And that's still not enough?

The really amazing part though is liberals still have no idea why U.S. companies don't want to invest here anymore.

Why is everyone claiming that he won't pay taxes?

Businesses DO invest in the US but not their money.
They spend the money in other nations investing their faith that consumer based America will be able to provide them with their profits.

Shut down an enormously successful and profitable company which employees thousands of people because the co-founder doesn't want to pay any more than the absolute legal minimum in taxes to an obviously fiscally irresponsible government?
