If the world would allow us to mind our own business, I'd agree with you. But the world wants our economic aid and our protection. That comes with strings. Europe had their time in the sun, when they interfered with everything. Now it's our turn. I know how that sounds, but still. I love Europe and I love the European people. I know you guys are pretty pissed at us right now, but I wish you'd be a little more understanding. A lot of the bitterness coming out of Europe smells of envy.

Don't say Screw 'em. We don't need to have good relationships with other countries and their countrymen, but we should want to go out of our way to do so anyway. We have to allow them to be critical of us without hating them for it. When they are meanspirited toward us, we have to take that in stride. We live in a wonderful nation, with a wonderful history. We don't have to bow to their opinions, but we should respect their right to them.

The only thing I envy about the U.S is the geographic/nature.

Only time will tell. I believe anti-americanism will continue, as long as the United States is a powerful nation and entities like the E.U. can't seem to get out of the shadow we cast.

Personally, I think it is time for the US to re-evaluate who are allies truly are. Lets start talking to Russia and China. Lets start better relationships with African nations and South America (not aid, relationships that help them). Screw Europe, Canada, and the rest of the haters. The US defines the world order, not any European nation as a single entity or as a whole. Keep the UK, maybe even Italy. The rest can go to French hell.

You do realize that Canada and Europe already have stable economic and diplomatic ties to China don't you? An you do realize that it is the USA that is sometimes openly hostile to China and Russia as well?

And if the USA is seeking energy security you think they should distance themselves from Canada and Europe. Yet Canada happens to be a growing and stable producer of americas much needed fossil fuels. And Europe is part of NATO and is a capitalist democratic secular friend.

I do know that if the US buddies up with China, they will drop useless nations like canada in a second. I do know that the idea of canada and energy security is over rated. I do know that the US also has economic ties with China. So for your idea of absurdity...perhaps you should think about the absurd idea that canada is significant in any way. The US will eventually drill in alaska. The US will eventually find alternative fuel...and lets not forget that the US currently occupies Iraq and will soon occupy Iran (Allah willing). Canada and Europe are laughable....like ostriches with their heads in the sand while the US leads the world...in EVERYTHING. We are the SOLE superpower for a reason.
