I was actally thinking of those flight attendants on my last trip on Luthansa. Me and a buddy drained all their JWBL on the flight over. On the flight back they'd speak German to me. And don't forget the label on St. Pauli Girl- every man's dream.

More seriously, I really don't see overweight as a big issue in Germany. But it may become as children tend to be overweight, this is stricking and a rising phenomenon.

That's baloney . Whenever I've been to Busch Gardens or Germany (Disney World, Florida) I always eat too much sausage.

As income levels rise, kids watch more TV and mothers replace more home-cooked meals with restaurants and packaged foods, Germany will begin to look more like the US- fat.

I voted Ignorance/Arrogance, whether willing or not I think people only chose to see the negitive....Sad really.

If it is, than it would not need to be racist to explain it. Blacks still to a very large percentage count to the poorer ones in the American society.

Obesity seems to be a problem especially among poorer people. Dont ask me why, there will be reasons for that, but it perfectly explains why especially among blacks a higher number suffers from obesity.

But the situation is worsening here. Its not as bad as in the US though. As far as I have heard.

Oddly, Americans I met said they can not believe how much Austrians eat, but still are slimmer than Americans. Anyways, in case you want a really robust meal, you have no other choice than visiting Austria

Kentucky Fried Chicken for example allready capitulated once here in Austria. No one wanted to buy those expensive parnierte chicken pieces. I mean hello, we are in the land of Wiener Schnitzel. They thought they could acquire a new underdeveloped market. And then they saw that they just come home. That means on every corner is a competition for half the price where the food tastes far better.

I am not trying to "come across" or "not to sound like" etc. I am saying what I have on my mind in the most honest possible way. If you don't like what I have in my mind, well, sorry.

I did also noticed that there were a lot of black people in NO. In fact what I "noticed" is in line with statistics, isn't it ? But, no, I did not make the correlation with Black & Fat because, really, my impression was that literally everybody was fat or "with a tendency" to getting fat.

I did read that there was an "income obesity" in the US. Therefore my conclusion at the time was that the reason why the prople in NO were fatter than in Boston, was due to the income situation and social origin -- > ergo, NO must be a lot poorer than Boston, and to such an extent that you could SEE it with your eyes.
