Re: Anti-Americanism 'feels like racism'
And still you managed to win
![]() Anyway I'm also a bit confused about all this, what's so bad about people talking about their abroad expierences (beer, food and stuff) for a while and then (hopefully) coming back to the original topic of the thread? I mean, it's not like asking further questions is illegal in here, so instead of giving up, Tim should just post his ideas/questions (imho).

You are missing my point, you European fool. I was drawing an analogy. And so what if Clooney doesn't like war? Who the hell does? He's still a know-it-all jerk.

Re: Anti-Americanism 'feels like racism'
[quote=Richyrich03867;1271586]And Voland, I will admit that prior to going to Germany I envisioned people drinking beer everywhere. Then I went on a Rhine River cruis near Frankfurt and found out that many restaurants in that area don't even serve beer, only wine. I remember a local guy laughing when I tried to order a beer, he told me "Beer is piss-water! Have a Rhine wine!" I did, and loved it.
I have to agree that this man was a wise man though i personally prefer wines from the Moselle. ![]() Few white wines can beat a good Riesling. |

Re: Anti-Americanism 'feels like racism'
I know what you mean. When I visited Germany I spent a few nights in Koblenz. Best of both worlds.

Koblenz is nice, but mostly the surrounding and the position at the conjunction of Rhine and Moselle. The city itself is rather ugly (heavily destroyed in WW II). Both Mainz and also Trier ( up the Moselle valley) hold much more for the visitor. |

As a side note, what is probably my favorite castle in Germany is located along the Mosel. Well, near it anyway.

Re: Anti-Americanism 'feels like racism'
I travel frequently, Starting in 2000 w/ that sham of an election, furriners openly laugh at me being an American.
It was only interrupted a short time around 9/11, now they say we deserved it, thanks to Bush |
