Not very likely. We'd probably be good communists. You too, come to think of it.

The name is "Deutschland" - "deutsch" comes from the old word "thiot" which means "united".

It seems that it is a policy of the French nation and people to always be uniquely French.

And that French unique-ness seems to have manifested itself beyond glorifying basic French culture.

On an international stage at least, The French seem to not only define themselves by what the French do, but by what Americans do not do.

There seems to be an obvious rivalry among the French when it comes to America.

Of course I always remember Americans romanticizing the French up until a few years ago.

But the French have been dissing on the USA for decades. You know, what we call Anti-Americanism.

The french are indeed uniquely french. I wouldn't say we make a policy of it, though, it just happens to be so. Sorry if it irritates you.

Really? Is there some substance to this perception of yours, or is it conjecture? The influence of adverse propaganda, perhaps? The french have been convenient scapegoats for your current administration. Replace "french" with "russian" in many of your media and you'd think the Cold War was in full swing.

I don't know what you call antamericanism. I thought the term was used for american communists during the McCarthy era. As for the french dissing the USA, I've yet to hear a french politician say anything of the sort of rabidly antifrench statements that the current US administration has uttered.

No apology needed.
1. The French fought the colonies decades before 1776 in what is upper PA and NY, using Indians as allies and terrorists, killing and raping women, scalping children. Truly awful stuff. The French helped the US during our war of Independence, only because they hated the Brits more than us.
2. “Unilateral” is a term described by the French and their liberal US press co-conspirators to describe actions by the US, British and allies against Iran. The term is incorrect at face value, misleading at best, and not at all what Mac was referring to.

So you deny the French secret arms deals with Saddam and the stonewalling at the UN, leading up to GW2 then. Is that your position?

What secret arms deals? If you mean post-GW1, you bet your ass I deny it. It's utterly ridiculous.

Definitely not. The position of France was that more time was needed for the inspections. As Bush jr. had deployed his troops at great expense and the meter was running, he was not willing to grant that time, or the risk that the UN might conclude (correctly) that Iraq had no WMDs. In a nutshell, France upheld the law, the US broke the law.

The French had secret arms deals? Well, I supopse the US had more balls then, because they didn't bother keeping their deals secret. How did Saddam come to power again?

1. So you are denying that French jets and illegal technology was found in the Iraq desert. Is that your position?

Well, shit! If Newsmax says it, it must be true!

The other link is an excerpt from a book, not a news story.
