Except for the number of illegal immigrants. That tells me that we must be doing something right. I don't see 11 milion illegal foreigners in Canada or anywhere else in the world for that matter.

Canada does not share a border with anybody but america. America shares a border with a nation that is poor in comparison. I have no doubt that if Canada shared a border with mexico we would also have lots of illegal immigrants as well. This is all just a matter of geography.

America does do many things right. I just don't think america is the greatest country in the world, i think it is just one of many great countries.

Do you really think that 11 million foreigners would be allowed to stay in Canada if they were there?

Yes. I think any rich country that cares at all about human rights and dignity would have a tough time sharing a border with a poor country. We do have our own illegal immigration problems on our west coast. Chinese people hop on a boat, claim refugee status when they get to Canada, and then dissapear. This has happened quute a few times, and nobody does a hell of a lot to find them.

I can guarantee you that if there were 11 million of them, Canada would be having fits. They'd tax your socialist programs, wreak havoc on your wages and put you into huge debt.

Besides it is quite immaterial to the issue you were discussing. Why didn't you point that out. he has a habit of putting out strawmen.

Still trying to get your shots in, eh old man? How about posting some content for a change.

I pointed out that the US has the largest number of illegal immigrants, so it can't be as bad a country as their "measures" might suggest. No strawman, the only strawman I know was the previous poster. He reminds me of the Wizard of Oz......"If I only had a brain"........

I know what you did. that's why I called it a strawman. it was not relevant to his issue. he was talking bout foreign policy, not imigration.

Andrew stated " Your country actually ranks pretty low on all measurable indexes."

My point was that those indices must not mean a whole helluva lot since we have 11 million illegals sneaking into our country. That's relevant to his comment and you probably would have seen that had you not been napping....or scaring off crows.
