Re: Remove MacArthurs statue

Yes, I knew about Eisenhower and Patton, but felt I was in deep enough by pointing out MCarthur's dross underneath the gold.

Ted, you have a lot to learn about your own country, in particular its 'heroes'!
Heroes are not perfect and people make mistakes. He is a hero in World War II and one of the greatest American military men in our history. Churchill was planning to use poison gas on the Germans and is quoted to saying, "I do not understand this squeamishness about the use of gas…. I am strongly in favor of using poisoned gas against uncivilized tribes". Yet, he also is a hero of WWII.

Patton was a brute but one of the greatest heroes in this countries short history. He had his share of problems--but he excelled in other areas where others failed. One of who was the use of African American soldiers.

--Men, you're the first Negro tankers to ever fight in the American Army. I would never have asked for you if you weren't good. I have nothing but the best in my Army. I don't care what color you are as long as you go up there and kill those Kraut sons of bitches. Everyone has their eyes on you and is expecting great things from you. Most of all your race is looking forward to you. Don't let them down and damn you, don't let me down![5]
