Protest??????

I think this is rather interesting.
\
\ China has launched a satelate destroying rocket which is apparently successful. They shot down one of their own obsolete satelites, But now the US has protested. Is the US now deciding, not only which nations may have nukes, but now is complaining that China has perfected a type of Star wars system. Why should they not have the right to persue such endevores???? Just US?????

The Bush Administration intentionally wants to use this piece of insignificant news to attract American people's attention from its own unpopular Iraqi plan, which is why the Bush Administration suddenly begin to whine about it now.

The whole world has been developing things along these lines, but they haven't been testing them because they don't want to start off a new arms race.

Bush administration does not support banning aerospace weapon testing. American people love arms race.

aerospace, perhaps not, but space weaponry is a different issue. Despite the USSR and the USA both building weapons to knock each other's satellites out of the sky in the event of WWIII they were never tested to my knowledge.

From my understanding, it was criticized by most of the international community that has a satellite program, not just the US.

So you want another arms race like there was with ICBMs? The complaints for this system is the same for the complaints with the US abm system.

Alright so if you believe that the US is contradicting its stance with the ABM defence, and object to the hypocrisy, which part do you object to? It seems equally hypocritical to oppose criticism of this system yet to likewise oppose the ABM defence.

Which is the right stance, should nations criticize both this and the abm defence, or should they oppose neither?

There is not much hypocrisy when Japan Critizises this.
Or could you elaborate what makes it a hypocrisy from Japan?

The US has declared that it must have a complete freedom to develop what kinds of weapons it wants in space and that nobody else has any right for anything. That is the source for US hypocrisy in this issue.

Nobody else has made such pompous dumb-ass redneck statements about this and basically invited a lot of "we'll see about that" kind of thoughts from russia and china. Now we see China responding to this stupid thing that US started.

Basically... Meanwhile Lockheed, Grumman, GD, GE, Boeing, and Raytheon are probably wetting themselves thinking about the new goodies they can sell to the military.

You guys did space weaponry tests for a long time. If you can do it, we can do it. Have you forgot your beloved "Freedom"?? By the way, thanks to Bush, there is no international contracts to ban those tests.
