The answer is simple. Just because America was interested in their death. You ask why? The main reason was to not let Europe cooperate with Russia and to unite Europe against Russia.

In 2001-2005 Putin worked hard to cooperate Russia with Europe. USA do not want to let Europe to cooperate with Russia. That's why that hysteria about "totalitarian Putin's regime" appeared in western press and such persons like Politkovskaya and Litvinenko were killed.

Read Emmanuel Todd - Apres l'empire, Essai sur la decomposition du systeme americain. He wrote well about that. His book was written in 2002, but he foretold that America will do some provocations against Russia and increase pressure on Russia to not let Europe cooperate with Russia.

Because if Europe will cooperate with Russia, there will be no need in America as empire.
Yee I got it, all journalists in Russia were killed by evil USA or by chechens.

If USA is trying to destabilize Russia, USA as more to lose about it... Russia is potential market of about 200M for American goods... And oppose USA vs Russia?? What for? USA needs Russia for its natural ressources... actually everyone needs Russia for its natural ressources, even they are not their customer, Russia can play on the prices of natural ressources

So come join WTO...

Look on how good it is to China and Vietnam!

And I think EU doesn't Russia to balance the power of USA, of course it would help, but even Europeans are suspicious towards Russia, and within the EU, Russia will be the biggest member so the most powerful, so it would change everything... UK, France, Italy and Germany won't like this at all...

I didn't read about it, but, yes why not, i like to read about theories like that

I think, USA has more to worry about China than Russia in the all...

That's an effect of low base. Look how bad WTO was for Morocco and Portugal.

E. Todd write that USA has changed its stabilizing role, and now it is a power of global destabilization and the main threat to the world.

Putin Russia become more and more Nazi.

"Nazi-Prügel für Homosexuelle - Beck abgeführt

Von Benjamin Bidder, Moskau

Die Nazis und radikalen Orthodoxen warteten schon. Bei der Moskauer Gay Parade gab es heute erneut Prügel für Schwule und Lesben - unter den Augen meist tatenloser Sicherheitskräfte. Grünen-Politiker Volker Beck wurde rüde von der Polizei abgeführt - zu seinem Schutz, wie es hieß."

That's the only thing i heard about this protest in Dutch media, as an gay-right-protest.
Because some dutch politician was involved in it.

Re: Protesters, police clash in Russia

In terms of the above fuss, no one even tried to clarify the actual historic truth, and actions of the Estonian Russian speaking population, who were brought to Tallinn from Narva, were based only on the emotions suggested by history. According to the historic facts, the Red Army entered Tallinn which has already been left by the Germans, therefore it is not clear who killed the soldiers buried under the removed monument. However, the „patriots“ who have been breaking windows and attacked the embassy, as well as their manipulators - the speakers of the Kremlin - did not care about that.

Are they idiots or doing that specially? Or maybe they are gay masochists who like to be beaten?

1. City Hall does not work on Sundays. So i don't know how "they tried to deliver a letter to City Hall".
2. OMON saved them from ultra-right radicals. If there's are not taken by OMON, they possibly would be killed or traumatized by ultra-right radicals.

Re: Protesters, police clash in Russia

The Moscow police, astonishingly, arrested me and let my attackers walk free," he said.

Richard Fairbrass, a singer with the band Right Said Fred, told BBC Radio Five Live that he would be travelling with security in Eastern Europe from now on.

"We've never travelled with security in Moscow, Latvia, any of the old eastern bloc countries, but I have to say I wouldn't... travel now without having our own security guys with us, no," he said.

"When it was over I actually felt more sorry for the guy that whacked me than I did for me... How threatened can he be, how insecure is he to be threatened by a bisexual pop singer who's most famous for singing 'I'm too sexy'?"

Italian MEP Marco Cappato was kicked by an anti-gay rights protester and then arrested when he demanded police protection.

Is this Beck that very wretched Beck who got a mischief on that very cause last year in Moscow?
The European Parliament deputies, cool... What a circus and bunch of unadequate punks this Europarliament seems to be. My condolences to Europeans.

Re: Protesters, police clash in Russia

Timoshenko will aggravate political and economic crisis in Ukraine

Under present circumstances when Ukrainian president Yushchenko is too feeble and we organize substantial financial support of Ukrainian political parties, Yulia Timoshenko has a very good chance of rising to power. Indeed, the support given by the White House to the Block of Yulia Timoshenko (BYT) and the Our Ukraine Party (OUP) is boggling imagination. It includes assistance of NDI under Nelson Ledsky's directorate and experts support of Millenium Challenge Corporation.

Unfortunately, there are only a few politicians in America who comprehend what Timoshenko's rising to power may result in. First of all, thsi will lead to breakdown of our business expectations for Ukraine. For some inexplicable reason, US state department and the White House are still laying great hopes on Ukraine's "orange" politicians like Timoshenko. Independent experts say however that Timoshenko's rising to power will lead to acute and unavoidable worsening of financial and economic conditions in Ukraine, cooling off realization of a number of important international projects for integration of Ukraine into global, European and North Atlantic trade organizations.

Besides that, within business communities Yulia Timoshenko is not considered as a person who is able to carry out effective economic and administrative reforms. In addition to that investors fear that after Timoshenko comes to power, she will keep her mind on repartition of country's production facilities to the benefit of Ukrainian businessmen who support her.
