Concerning collaboration, I think it is safe to say that the highest level of collaboration, and of resistance, was by the russians. The Русская Освободительная Армия (Russian Liberation Army) had accordning to the article in Wikipedia 113 battalions.

Russian Liberation Army included people from all over USSR, including Ukrainians, Belorussians, Russians, Caucasians, etc...

So you have to compare population. The percentage of traitors was low, comparing to other countries.

And you forget, that it was not only Germany in the war, but almost the whole continental Europe supported Germany by different means.

World War 2 in real is the war between Russia and the whole Europe.

Actually stalinist propaganda was saying that german people were cruelly forced to serve to dictator Hitler, and that the most of Frenches were bravely fighting against german occupation. That's not true, of course.

Re: Russia - „The Third Empire“

What's the problem, the WW2 was the war of continental Europe against Russia, if you check the official/non-official supporters of Germany during the war, and especially before the break in the war. Even Turkey was on Germany's side.

Britain was passive and all they did was only sitting on the island, defending its towns during air attacks.
France was inactive the whole war, its "resistance groups" are made more of post-war western and stalinist propaganda, than of real people and their deeds. Moreover, France can be considered as the country, that supported Germany, because Vichy's government did much to support Germany.
USA entered the war almost in the end of it.

So, it was obvious that WW2 was actually the war between Russia and continental Europe.
