Well for starters it would save you money since you wouldnt have to keep all those soldiers on the watch for russians that will never come. What do they do now anyway? watch tv all day?

Surely they have better things to do than hanging around in italy and germany? Where it matters more - south korea and taiwan - there arent any nato soldiers at all but they are under direct US control.

those bases are also midpoints for transporting soldiers and planes to and from the battle field, i think they are pretty necessary. alot of wounded go to germany for treatment that kinda thing...also i think they were used for kosovo operations..

Well, jentlemen, thanks for interesting reading. Same feeling as if I occasionly listened the talk of few men who plan to kill me. Hell, it's thrilling. The level of hostility which seeks desperately for some small excuse to unite and crash Russia in total war, to become volunteer - anything just to start kill Russians is really stunning. Three things are only obstacle to turn your subconscious fancies into reality - the nuclear weapons, the fucking surrounding pacifism and absence of new Hitler, who could give you the ideology which will not demand the excuse to start the aggression. As follows from your posts the West is armed up to it's teeth in comparison to the weakened Russian military, high time to provoke and hit until it's too late. God, what a poison you all got in your heads behind all your false treacherous smiles and politess. Latent murders, Bertold Brecht was damn right about you but nobody believed him. Small decline in your economy, a little peak of private dissatisfaction and you will be ready for killing Crusade - for the Coffin of God, for the Reign of the Aryan race or for any sacred bullshit which can give you the feeling of sense in your senseless and boring existence.
Too cowardous to be warriors, you couch warmongers, don't worry - the total war you dream of always has great demand for the hangmen. There will be the opportunity to kill many men and women, quite safe, just imagine it.

Personally I am just wondering Russias motives and why it acts this way, but perhaps it is over exaggerating American/EU intentions.. .the enemy is Radical Islam these days and personally would rather see American/Russian/Chinese/ EU alliance to destroy these bastards.. then add Russian conflict and Chinese conflict on top of everything..

Who said anything about killing Russians? I've got nothing against the Russian people. They've been through a horrific history; and seem to have forgotten most of it.

The problem is your government. It wants to pretend it's a superpower, yet resorts to thuggery and brigandary. Unfortunately, our government under W has done much of the same. However, he's gone in a year and a half, and things will change. I don't believe the same will happen in Russia.
