Re: Murder Suspect to Run For Parliament in Russia

AGREE. I agree. Current world borders came into existence after numerous wars were fought, borders moved, pacts signed, kings offered a slack and messengers assassinated.

But again, Litvinenko and Lugovoi...Did this thread gone depleated of original thinking yet?..Can we move on? Can we call the case closed, please?

Btw, if Russia really was a democracy, then this issue would be none of your business. The voters have every right to elect a criminal (or alleged criminal) to represent them.
It will be surprise for you but he could not be elected. This depends on people's decision.

And Lugovoi got into the list for election of Liberal-Democratic Party, the fourth by the number of members.

Right. And once again, it is not a real issue at all. The people have a right to choose whomsoever they like to represent them - or to reject anyone they so choose.

Anyway, Anselme -- look, there is a difference between a suspect and a convicted criminal, right? And what for christ sake does this mean -- 'suspect criminal'? Is it something like 'mother-to-be' or something?
Besides, who said he will be elected?
My point, comrade, was that it is of no ones power to deny him a constitutional right to be affiliated with any political party of his choise. Russia does that and next moment Washington Post spin brigade regords another load of venom but his time on violation of constitutional rights in Russia. You know what I'm saying?

Anselme, you sound like a good person. Really. And in good command of english. Why won't you read web sites who give a little different side of every story than Murdoch does? I won't give you any particular links for you should find them yourself. You will thank me later on, I promiss, and you are welcome!
Thanks, but Murdoch doesn't have much or any newspapers in France, your plot doesn't fit in. And I even read Russian newspaper through courrierinternational.com

It is true that until is not proven guilty, he is innocent, but i repeat, he is a top prior suspect... in a reasonable world, he would try to prove himself innocent in the first place, then (suppose he is innocent), try to run for the available seat

It looks like more that he is escaping the justice to me... which makes him even more suspicious, if he is innocent, he doesn't really know how to handle this
