If the US was a democracy, you might - MIGHT - actually have a point. Since it isn't, you don't.

End of discussion.

Hillary is polling at 47% in the Netherlands now, Obama is at 31%. 5% of the people said someone else. 17% is undecided.

78% prefers a Democrat in the white house, 6% a Republican.

Liberal Europeans Demand Right to Vote in U.S. Elections | The Brussels Journal
Thats crap. The Brussels Journal is an EU phobic blog with a bad reputation.
I consider its news to be on a level with the the SUN.

I think that article presents a good case for a UN federal government. The US has already proved, once again, that democracies are not the best vehicle for imperialism.

Why not advocate for state's rights and better representation from the UN?

Re: Liberal Europeans Demand Right to Vote in U.S. Elections

We already have a UN government that is analogous to the US under the Articles of Confederation (before we upgraded to our present Constitution).

It is only a matter of time before a constitutional upgrade will be required. A better constitution could prevent the level of anarchy Europe is currently experiencing when one state decides to use its exorbitantly expensive super power to detriment of the rights of other states. That was much the same problem the several states of the US had before our modern Constitution was carefully crafted at a convention.

Why would you object to a US style constitution with a Bill of Rights?

I object to the UN having that kind of power over the United States because it would mean a surrender of American sovereignty. If the UN nations came up with such a constitution and tried to force it on the US, I would fight. If they somehow got the US government onboard with it, then I would fight them too.

Just because someone understands American politics, does not mean he has to support the conservatives.

Except I don't think most Europeans understand American politics, and that is why we are seeing such huge support for the Democratic candidates. I suspect most simply throw their support behind them, regardless of their platform, because they know Bush is a Republican.

People were also asked what they thought of these 25 statements (EenVandaag, English version), and only 10% ended up with a republican as outcome. Even the majority of people who defined themselves as right wing ended up with a democrat.

The most popular candidate here was Edwards.
