An old news -- UN sees rice prices easing

UN sees rice prices easing _English_Xinhua
I think Westerners should do it's best to solve food conjuncture of world!
Not only use food to make fuel!
There're many many poor people who have no food to eat now!
If we want a fine world, westerners should be responsible!

Why only "westerners" should be responsible?? Does China is still so poor/unimportant (like decades before) or has your country seen a positive economic development? I think the 2nd said is true, so why not include the Chinese in those who could do something???

Re: An old news -- UN sees rice prices easing

First of all, I want to point out that it is not the west's responsibility to maintain proper nourishment to the world. My gouvernment only has the responsibilty to maintain good nourishment for my own people.
Second: There are very, very few nations in the world who are incapable of providing proper nourishment to their people because of the land the people live on. Most nations which have problems feeding their population have this problems due to their populations lack of the very basic agricultural expertise. And/Or because the nation prefers producing agricultural export goods over providing food for their population.
Third: Living on the same planet all those people are starving, and belonging to the same biological race, I would like to see the UN helping those starving nations by helping their gouvernments initiating the right reforms, as well as providing basic agricultultural education for the common farmers there.

I have same views with you!
As a delveoping country, China's power is limited!
And west countries are sure leader of the world!
So,of course, westerners shoud be more responsible than Chinese and India!
But Chinese will do his best to help people who are suffering hungriness in the world!

yes, they are certianly helping those folks in darfur...I think one might want to attend to ones values etc. before asking others to step up and do it for you. If chinese food production is limited, its a self imposed limitation.

chinese food production is enough for the chinese people. Actually, food producing is a task of strategical importance of the chinese government. It is a big contribution of China to the world not to import or only import very small amount of food, considering the huge population of China.

My means is that as leader of free world and all the world USA should
do something for people who are suffering hunger!
China has enough food! But China's power is more limited than USA when to help hungry people!
The hungry people need USA!
Don't waste food to make oil!
Many people are going to die for lack of food!

I see, so we are leader of the free world weh? And china is what exactly? I guess they are not the free world, but we knew that so.

China is running round the world buying up energy as fast as it possibly can, we all are, so its a world issue.

As far as ethanol goes I agree, since china is an oligarchy you don’t have to worry about pressure grp.,s twisting economic and scientific platforms to suite these pressure groups, so in one way I envy you.
