LOL right. "The same land" by right of military conquest. I guess on that logic, Iraq is about to become the 51st state of the U.S.

So the US will return the land it took from Mexico in military conquests in the nineteenth century?

I, personally, did nothing of the sort, and therefore I, personally, am free to criticize what China is doing in Tibet without hypocrisy.

I might, if asked, render some opinions on the Mexican-American War as well. I assure you it would not be lacking in criticism of the United States of the time. On the question of whether the U.S. should at this time give California back to Mexico, the disruptions that would cause at this time would far exceed any good that might arguably be done, and whether any good would be done is debatable. This would not be the case should China withdraw from Tibet. It would be more comparable to China withdrawing from Guangdong Province, which nobody is suggesting.

Re: Beautiful and adorable Aemrican girl!

Human race should back to our source--Africa jungle.
all different ethnics should live together in the tree in Africa like monkey.that's peaceful paradise, how nice it is

White Anglo Saxon People leave America land and back to UK
Blacks back to Africa
European-Amerian back to Europe
other ethnics leave America land and back their own motherland(either in South America)
Australian back to Europe, either New Zealand people back to Europe
the offspring of Huns back to Mongolia and other area where did they live, to beat Mongolian to get land back
...

...every country back to tribes society, live in the tree,in the hole.fishing in the river, eat fruit.kill animals.wear "tree leaf".

some Mexico people want get California back.you must listen their voice.it like you guys listen 3% exiled Tibetan's speech to "Free Tibet",so "Free California","Free Texas"...now
if you don't listen Mexico people's voice, you are unfair.
be fair,Thank you
Vietnamese said "Guang Dong province" is a part of Vietnam.I don't surprise,S.Korean said North China and a huge part of Russia is a part of S.Korea too

If most of the people living here were Mexican citizens, and if the place were occupied by U.S. troops who routinely committed atrocities against them, they'd have a point.

Looks a little too far north on the map to be part of Vietnam, and besides it's chock full of Han Chinese. Should all the Chinese move out of the province to give it back to Vietnam?

But actually, China's claim to Tibet is more like China's claim to Vietnam than Vietnam's claim to Guangdong. Didn't China rule Vietnam for something like 1000 years, long ago? I wouldn't recommend trying to take it back, though. Those guys can be a pain in the butt.

But then, it seems so can the Tibetans. But I tell you what. I'd be happy to have a plebiscite here in California to decide whether we want to remain part of the U.S. or go back to Mexico. I think I can predict how even Mexican citizen residents of the state will vote.

Getting a little more serious. China needs to get used to being criticized by foreigners. That's part of the game when you emerge into great-power status. China's occupation of Tibet isn't like the U.S. occupation of California, it's like the U.S. occupation of Iraq, or, rather more recently than when China did this, of Vietnam. We got a lot of flak for those two occupations, and in my opinion deservedly so. China deserves the criticism you're getting for Tibet, too. No nation in the world is perfect. That includes China.
