on your computer. You will then browse your computer and upload the image. You choose the size you want (probably 75% of the original size will work) and click 'Resize.' Once this is done, you will then download the resized image to your computer. You can them upload it to an image host and use the link for your signature picture. There are many free image hosts online. I use Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket. PS: not knowing how to do something does not equal stupidity. |

All you're showing is that Americans are not free to say whatever they want wherever they want, which I acknowledged when I said Americans are "mostly free" to broadcast our opinions in public and protest our government and laws. And while examples of censorship exist, you're simply looking for what you want to see and not acknowledging the whole picture. Clearly, free speech exists in the United States; I encounter it every day in newspapers, when I'm in my classes, when I read this website or many others. Have you ever even been to the US? Anyway, I clearly cannot say that Americans have 100% free speech (you've already proved that wrong), but I never said there was "no censorship." That would be absurd to say and impossible to prove; even if official censorship didn't exist--like the defamation laws I mentioned, or national security laws--there would still be an untold amount of self-censorship occurring. Btw, you just suggested that American media are censored and that newspapers like the Washington Post are wrong. Not only is it strange that the censored American media are reporting acts of censorship, but also it is even more strange that you are using these sources as actual evidence of anything. ![]()

Re: An old news -- CNN president apologizes for Jack Cafferty's remarks on China
The problem of national security and freedom exists in every state, and it is the background of many debates going on in the United States right now. The biggest problem is when governments use national security as a way to get more power and oppress its people--this is how many Americans view the actions of the People's Republic. Threats to security are different for every nation, but all nations must deal with the problem of a government that might exaggerate or exploit those threats to control its people.
