Seems to me Americans always like it to be happy even if they are standing in a sea of shit and they like to sit down on a chair. Sure you can be happy and proud to be an American - but makes this any sense for someone or something except your own napoleonic complex in this case? An Afghan who is trusting in the government our soldiers are "defending" in the name of the USA, the UNO and the NATO is an idiot - much more than only an idiot. What's the reason to defend people who don't like to be defended or what's the reason to install governments no one is trusting in?

Angela Merkels governement is faced with a tremendous dissapproval of the mission at home ( especially after the scandal about covering up civilian deaths) and insists to only decide after the Afghanistan conference in London........

I wouldn't send them if I were you. Obama's not dedicated to victory. He can't even define what victory would look like. Why would you want to send you young men to support such a non-policy? They will only suffer and possibly die for nothing like the American soldiers and Marines are doing.
