US human rights report attacks Switzerland

This years human rights report by the US state department is attacking a country that has not been mentioned in connection to human rights violations often : Switzerland for its referendum on a minaret ban. Generally the state department calls "growing discrimination of Muslims" in Europe a cause of concern and cites for example french considerations for a burqa ban or alleged minor discrimination in the Netherlands as evidence.
Germany is additionally beeing criticized for violating the freedom of expression of Nazis...........

Re: US human rights report attacks Switzerland

I've been reading that certain parts of Europe are having a growing problem with anti-immigration towards Muslims. But it's not like Europe doesn't have a problem with radical Muslims, and those who don't want to assimilate, either. So I'm skeptical about it being a human rights issue, at this point.

But these other countries? They are regular mentions at the top of many human rights reports:

Quote:
The report examines the state of human rights in 194 countries. It levels its strongest criticisms at Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe.

Dumb move by the DoS. This is certainly not a human rights issue in the slightest.

I am a liberal, a classical liberal. Classical liberalism is liberalism, but the current collectivists have captured that designation in the United States. In Europe they are glad enough to call themselves socialists. But no one in America wants to be called socialist and admit what they are.

Lucky for the Swiss, the State Dept is more toothless than usual these days.
