I have to wonder if this 'democracy' will involve sharia law and what impact it will have on the women.

The ones in Egypt who were in prison have been let out. There, though, rape is a nonentity if you are male.

Actually in this country that's not the case. That would fall under the laws that deal with mishandling a dead body.

There may be internet available in the hotels. When I have been in a foreign country, we have always gotten news from the American media. The people who lived there did not. So, the internet cafes in the hotels may still up working.

Egypt has, however, blocked Facebook and Twitter.

    Just a little Sunday rant............
There's a certain irony to that comparison. The U.S. government has supported Mubarak's rule ever since he took office.

True, but Mubarak's authoritarian rule and our support of it flies in the face of any spreading of democracy we have claimed in our interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Even Israel's statements regarding Egypt's recent turmoil have been mostly an admission that they only like democracies that benefit them.

I'm not saying America is any different from a lot of the world in its self-centered focus on foreign policy, but I do wish we'd be a little more honest about our motivations.

It's about the election comming up in September.

Could you give an example of America being dishonest about it's motivations?

When did America ever claim it was not looking after it's own interests?
