Dont get me wrong, I'm not sitting on a stockpile of guns and researching targets. This is just my assessment of the theory and practice of revolution. I dont think we need that kind of revolution in the US, but we do need something more effective than we have now.

More effective? Like pooping-in-public effective or setting-people-on-fire effective? Or are we sticking with the killing of people we consider the ruling class?

Are you talking about more effective for creating long-term change, disrupting our current system, galvanizing a movement?

One of my all-time favorite quotes comes from JFK, "Those who make peaceful revolutions impossible, make violent revolutions inevitable."

We've exhausted our peaceful means. It's clear that the people that control this society are not interested in sharing or giving up power in any real or meaningful way and it doesnt matter how many protest signs you make or how many petitions you sign. I dont see a peaceful way out of this situation, I dont see those that have control over this society having a moment of clarity and willingly returning power.

No, no you're not. But that's alright. I'm used to throwing bricks in the Grand Canyon; I realize very little and probably none of this will resonate with you, but I hope that at least one person who does read this takes away some little spark that makes them want to go out and change the world
