Re: Change the Jury system!

I think that people should be required to demonstrate proficiency in neurosurgery, quantum mechanics, literature writing, and multi-variate calculus before they can serve as jurors. That way, the handful of people capable of simultaneously earning all these distinctions will do nothing with their multiple important talents but sit in jury boxes. It's really a flawless plan.

Again is the assinine Jury system listen to lawyers and find them not guilty. If Jurors were like me they would all go to prison.Cause i said to them ,, Defense Lawyers will do ANYTHING to get his client off the hook. And i didnt vote not guilty like the rest of those 10 liberals i had in the jury room.So i stood in there as long it takes before they changed the verdict to guilty cause those liberals wanted to go home instead of spending a week in a hotel room. And it was getting closer to thanksgiving so they decided all to vote guilty of second degree murder and compromise with me on a guilty charge. Well the Judge gave him 10 years instead of 25 to life if it was on a first degree murder verdict.

Yes, you really are insane.

What would even be the purpose, then, of having a trial? Charge them, then throw them in prison for life. Seems to be that's what you're advocating.

Well, you'd advocate it right up until that time that you might get arrested...

Well,, I saw the evidance the gun and the bullet matched the gun.. Cops said they found no figerprints on the gun but witnesses said they saw the guy was running. His lawyer said he was playing with the gun with his friend and 2 other guys and gun went off.He didnt go to the police cause he was scared. But the guy also had 2 minor crinminal offenses of shoplifting when he was a boy. But i dont buy that alibi. Why you think his lawyer said ""Well he was scared and didnt go to the police because of his past'''Put yourself in his shoes,,Would you go to the police if you had a criminal record??''' That said it all right there why i wouldnt vote not guilty and i wasnt gonna give in to those idoits who voted not guilty.

And to rephrase #36 into English, I'm asking steveox if he undertands what he's promoting vis-a-vis the American legal system, as it has evolved.

Well if I was a defendant I'd want twelve economists on the jury. Two economists can't agree about anything so twelve should be a safe bet.

Re: Change the Jury system!

Really seems that you have an issue with three particular juries and then you impugn all juries because of the three. All of which dealt with very different issues.
