Re: Change the Jury system!

Why not Force Judges to retire when theyre 60. Airlines force pilots to retire when they turn 60.Im talking about all state Judges must retire at 60 at years old.If they wanna still serve on the bench then write a letter to the president and ask him you wanna become a federal judge or a supreme court justice nomanee.

No it's not the best judicial system in the world. It's actually rotten with problems. But never mind, you stick with it.

The original reason for the decision to terminate Pilots was for Physical reasons. for this to be the reason to terminate Judges is to say they are losing their Mental capabilities at that age. Is that what you are suggesting??

Re: Change the Jury system!

Again steveox,

What about the merging of the courts of equity and law?

Been the standard since the 1400's.

Your plan substantially undos that.

Re: Change the Jury system!

Im Favor of the Soviet Justice system.
1.You dont get No Lawyer
2.Theyre No Juries
3.You have to tell those 3 judges all by yourself and beg for mercy.

You ether get sentened to hard labor or a free man.

Re: Change the Jury system!

It sounds bad, but I'd really like you to get arrested and charged with something. You need to see how the system actually works.

Re: Change the Jury system!

Judge won't say "not guilty, he'll say "twenty years in the pokey" of course that will be a while after the foreperson of the jury stands up and says, "we find the defendant guilty"

Ah, the benefits of jury selection processes! And having really bad prosecution witnesses. Johnnie Cochrane nothing, jeez a suburban lawyer could have got him off.

No way a backwoods High school dropout public defender could get O.J off the hook.

This is absurd.

The principle of trial by a jury of one's peers is the bedrock of the justice of the Common Law tradition.

And if America is filled with large numbers of High School dropouts and people on Welfare or other government programs, then it is important that jury selections reflect this. A jury of peers is what that is.

Putting selective or arbitrary requirements and/or special qualifications upon jury service can only represent a desire or plan to abuse the justice system for some nefarious political purpose.

A trial in front of a jury of your peers is the single greatest defense against arbitrary government.
