Judge in Internet terror trial doesn't know what the internet is

Wow this is inexplicable. I can understand some people are slow to adapt to technology but even my 60 year old mother uses the net on a regular basis. Why does the ignorance of this judge make me mad? He ought to be removed without question and given a computer before being allowed to continue his job.

Terror trial judge baffled by internet

Judge in terrorism case fails to understand what is a website or the internet.

A judge told a court during a trial that he was struggling to understand basic terms like "website" in the case of three men accused of inciting terrorism via the internet.

Judge Peter Openshaw broke into the questioning of a witness about a web forum used by alleged Islamist radicals.

"The trouble is I don't understand the language. I don't really understand what a website is," he told a London court during the trial of three men charged under anti-terrorism laws.

Prosecutor Mark Ellison briefly set aside his questioning to explain the terms "website" and "forum". An exchange followed in which the 59-year-old judge acknowledged: "I haven't quite grasped the concepts."
