Basically...I approve of the death penalty for murder. Starting with Manson.
In terms of dealing with a murderer, I disagree. Execution is proven to result in ZERO recidivism.

How much more inclined would Americans be toward the death penalty if a larger portion of the population realized that death is not the end of ones Soul, but merely the end of ones current incarnation? And at death the Soul of the murderer will definitely go before a "judge" and will definitely go to some hell and spend a long time there "learning" that murder is not a good thing to do. This is of course the natural rehabilitation of Life, if only more in the West were aware of this reality.

Peace

Absolutely true. No executed murderer has ever reoffended.

That's a theological issue. And again, I agree with you...it is'nt quite the end.

He/she will definitely be judged. However, you are taking somewhat the eastern concept. I would disagree that an unrepented murderer ever returns to the land of the living. They are eternally destroyed. Then it is the end. But then this issue awaits the future manifestation or the time of absolute restoration.

Reincarnation has a germ of truth but not for those who died in a state of condemnation. The spririt is reunited with a glorified body if one believes the Biblical concept. But only for those who died in a state of grace.

And peace to you.

Re: Death penalty reasoning

I am opposed to the death penalty. Innocent people have been killed, and death penalty supporters seem to shrug their shoulders and act like these people are nothing but collateral damage.

Are you also opposed to legalized abortions? Just curious, but I find it interesting most people who oppose the death penalty also support legal abortions.

Um - you're stating that a religious belief is reality?

No - we're aware of the concept of reincarnation, we just don't base our legal system on your religion.

I find abortion to be abhorrent from a personal perspective. However, I also recognize the danger and impracticability of enforcing any such law. I would rather have a woman kill her child in a hospital, than have both of them die because she's stupid enough to try to do it herself.

What I find interesting is that Christians, who profess a belief in forgiveness and redemption, turning the other cheek, ect, are often the most stringent advocates of capital punishment.
