Re: Doj hiring - native american medicine man
Would this be a problem if the government was hiring a Christian pastor to minister to the needs of the Christian prisoners?
Personally I see the First Amendment as banning all government involvement in religion. Providing prison chaplains ( or for that matter military chaplains) of any and all faiths based on the beliefs of the population being served then having a Native religion leader is no different than having a Christian religion leader on the payroll ( or under contract.)
So is your objection based on having any religion supported by government or just those religions that you do not subscribe to being supported?
I always find it strange that only reasonable people agree with me.
