Whatever! But conservatives back then were against slavery and slavery was business back then. So back in the 1800s Democrats were for business and not for the little guy.But today Democrats are against Business and for the little guy.

Lincoln did not attack Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter was a federal installation. Lincoln defended Fort Sumtner.

Conservatives were not against slavery, liberals (then called progressives) were.

Proslavery (future confederates) attacked the federal post of Fort Sumtner not becuase they cared of the policies of congress, but of Lincoln's (which were somewhat progressive.

The secession of the confederate states actully made congress more liberal, since they illiminated the conservative or proslavery votes.

So I guess the premise of this thread really is a bit off.

What if i went back in time machine and i give Benjamin Franklin a blueprint how to build a power plant and invention to build a light bulb. Then in late 1700s every street with had lights and homes would had lights with no TV or Radio. Or Even electric ovens. People wouldnt be using candles any more.
