Well, almost 8 years after Clinton left office there are many (even here n the Forum) who hold Clinton responsible for many things that are happening in the world right now. The same will possibly hold true when Bush leaves office.

Am I the only one that thought this was a thread about alternative lifestyles?

anyway, I suspect the press will move onto a new target, and yes I gotta say it; they will allow Obama, if elected a great deal more latitude imho, before dropping the level of debate once again to the usual.

possibly? dude, count on it. Reagan is still a boogeyman too.

I will make one wager; I will wager Bush will not gad about bashing the new candidate if its a dem. I wager he will honor the here to fore practiced agreement not to bash the sitting pres.

And that would be quite the welcome change back to the gentleman's protocol that has existed for some time until lately.

Well, since he sat on his laurels and made money in failure long before he became president Id say there's no need to become european. Just go to Texas and help run a company into the ground then take a tidy sum when its bought over by a 'good ol boy'.

You dont need to travel the Atlantic for that.

You shouldnt be so mean about european colonisation. After all, your blessed land would still belong to the natives if it wasnt for europeans. Or are you in favour of that?

Besides, its not as if the US hasnt tried to take over backward areas in its time. Its just never been much good at it, i.e. the Phillipines. A lack of interest in people beyond its borders unless its threatened by them Id say.

But to really address your point. The effects of Europe on the Middle East are deep and long lasting admittedly. But thats no excuse for laziness.

I will wager Bush almost completely disappears for quite a long time. He has been a media clown and punching bag for almost 8 years, he probably never wants to see a reporter or a camera again.

Ever since I saw a book called "The Only Bush I Trust Is My Own", the first thing I thought when I saw him was - well, you know. I think I'm going to miss that association most of all.

Yes. That is sarcasm.

As for myself i will do exactly what i did with Bush (believe it or not). I will wait a year or two and then judge accordingly.

Not true. Clinton left with a 60% approval rating while Bush is at 28%, which means Bush is the punching bag for everybody but the neo-cons now.
