Who are your role models?

Greetings and Felicitations,

Based on a post from Mudwhistle.

Who are your role models? They can be real or fictional people. They can be alive or dead?

My entries are:

Spock.
Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama.
David Hume.
Dan Millman.

Sincerely Yours,
C. David Neely

Re: Who are your role models?

That's a good question. Pretty much every member of my family. Genghis Khan (don't ask - no, really, don't). Julie Burchill.

Re: Who are your role models?

My parents for all the good and bad. I've learned so much about what to do and what not to do. They are unperfect, amazing people!

And even my kids. They inspire me everyday.

My children are an inspiration for me in many ways. The youngest girl, Ayla, has one of the most accepting, loving hearts I have ever met.

I think that's an amazing quality to have. My boy is like that. He makes me proud everyday. We've always described him as having such a warm heart. He's not a sensitive child (he doesn't get upset or disturbed by much of anything and he's a lot of fun to joke around with), but he is one of the most caring and compassionate people I know. He'll be 11 on Tuesday.

My youngest is 5 and just started kindergarten. WOW!! She's spunky I learn so much about the little things from her. Nothing gets past her and she is sure to share every bit of it with me. I like to watch her when she thinks no one is watching...last night I got to see a shadow puppet show

She broke her foot last year riding on her scooter. I was lucky enough to be arriving home from work just as it happened. She was amazing. She kept her loving spirit during the whole thing. She had to be put to sleep to find out how bad the break was and if she had torn the ligaments in her foot. She had to ride the elevator at school and she picked a different person each time to help her back and forth so everyone would get a ride. You should have seen her crawling back and forth to the TV. BTW. She's nine years old. Her favorite subject is science and math. We have the most amazing conversations walking to and from school.

Sincerely Yours,
C. David Neely

Re: Who are your role models?

My role models are my father, who I know quite well, and his father, who I never really knew at all.

I don't always agree with Michelle Malkin, but that's not an accurate portrayal of her stance on the Rachel Ray-Keffiyeh controversy. She simply pointed out that the Keffiyeh is a symbol of Palestinian terrorism and that to wear it without realising the symbolism, as many seem to do, is moronic.

How is this relevent to the thread?

Re: Who are your role models?

Other than my mother (the greatest person I ever knew) and considering public figures, Margaret Thatcher and Condoleezza Rice are excellent role models to me. They are both highly successful women in public service who have their success based on their hard work rather than using any crutch based on being different from the norm of persons in those positions.

My role model - the person who wrote the "delete post" function in vBulletin.

I've just put their creation to good use on a bunch of off-topic stuff.
