What are your New Years Resolutions????

I am shooting for the following:

weight loss: am a fat ass need to stop or i will sooner or later pop like a tick

back into shape (army shape its been 3 years since i retired and i am weaker than a nickle pack of kool aide in the ocean now)

enjoy my family way more and stop to smell the roses

start attacking my bucket list (that was last years resolution made the list never did any of it)

How about you???

Re: What are your New Years Resolutions????

well, I already quit just about everything I can and still continue to live, so quitting is out. I guess I need to make a "starting" list. Getting in better shape would be good, although difficult with tendonitis in both elbows, 2 herniated neck discs, and one bum knee.

Re: What are your New Years Resolutions????

Daily meditation, and I am going to start practicing Tai Chi. I will start exercising again, doing cardio and body weight exercises and start having weekly fighter practice.

When I get a job, I am going to start paying ahead on my debts, and I will start saving money. I'm going to pay off my student loans so that I can finally go back to school.

Rak, I don't make resolutions any more. But I do make goals. This year I want to finish the work on my house.

Re: What are your New Years Resolutions????

I have to get the kiddo prepared to operate a motor vehicle and not become an alcoholic in the process.

Thats probably enough challenge for any one year.

Re: What are your New Years Resolutions????

Sticking to my education and doing my homework better. And as a second priority maybe balance my diet a little because one month I do only homecooking and eat all my fruit and veggies, but another month I eat fast stuff the whole month. It would be nice if that would even out some. And thirdly evening out my alcohol input. At home I can usually manage myself and stop after 2 beers (which is appearantly healthy or at least not unhealthy) but to keep my brains in shape I should cut down on the drinking at social events. Like on New Years Eve.

Why is it called New Years Eve btw? In Dutch it's called Old Years Eve, that makes much more sense.

"Eve" is the evening before...like "Christmas Eve" is the day before Christmas, Halloween is the eve of All Saints Day and New Year's Eve is the day before the New Year begins.

Ok then I understand. I thought it was short for "evening". We call it "Chirstmas Evening" and "Old Years Evening" and "Presents Evening" (on december 5th, St. Nicholas Day).
