Re: Firefly was the greatest television series of all time.
I never watched the show, but Serenity was a pretty cool movie.

Re: Firefly was the greatest television series of all time.
Serenity is much better, though, if you've watched firefly already.

I'm going to contact your girlfriend and tell her to withhold sex until you comply.

![]() Seriously, what is so good about this show? Bear in mind, I'm not a fan of sci-fi TV shows or movies. I like hard science fiction... it's got to be reasonably realistic and feasible. For example, most hollywood spaceships somehow have "gravity" in them, but no one every addresses how this is done. Maybe an occasional mention of some sort of "gravitron field" or something, but it's never really explained. Don't even get me started on inter-stellar travel, it's impossible. I guess I'm not willing to just sit back and be entertained, I'm too critical of the "science" they present. |

I'd check out Sextraterrestrial III: Take Me To Your Breeder.

Re: Firefly was the greatest television series of all time.
"Space: Above and Beyond" from the 1990s, had one episode where there were, IIRC, maybe 2 lines of dialog. It was fucking incredible.
It was called "Who Monitors the Birds?" |

Re: Firefly was the greatest television series of all time.
Yeah, but for me, most sci-fi on the screen is not even remotely believable. OTOH, there is lots of written sci-fi that tries to be more realistic. Unfortunately, the realistic stuff is more boring... it doesn't translate well to the screen. Not entertaining enough (no emphasis on explosions, aliens with large breasts, etc.).
