So when does Barack Obama grow wings & a halo?

I had to laugh at one of the posters on this board, that stated that hurricane Gustaz, ("interrupting" the RNC convention) was a sign from God, to vote for his son, Barack Obama.

So I reflected on Barack Obama's campaign to see what would ever make anyone say that.

Obviously, Sarah Palin picked up on it too--with her comments of--when Barack Obama is finished "rolling back the waters" & "healing" the planet, exactly what are his plans?

In my opinion--I think these kind of sentiments result from a continual Obama media network--ABC, NBC, CBS, & the MSN's following Barack Obama around like he is some kind of god like figure. In their effort to insure that Barack Obama is the next President of the United States. We all saw the video of 200 thousand Germans screaming his name, while he was on his world-wide popularity tour. The Obama media networks cameras were rolling constantly.

I also believe this comes from Barack Obama who staged his acceptance speech with greek styrofoam columns at Invesco field, fireworks & 75 thousand adorning--star lit fans.

I don't think that this has gone well for Obama with millions of Americans watching this at home on their T.V. screens. Americans will not elect arrogance.

Now, I may have been able to put up with the "rock star" idle figure, that was stated by pundents from the Obama networks media, but when someone compares Barack Obama to the son of God--it goes over the top for me.

Re: So when does Barack Obama grow wings & a halo?

I think that the more that people learn about Obama, the less of a mystical and flawed candidate he beomes, because hype can only last for so long. Sooner or later, people are going to start to ask, "where is the beef"?

Obama is not the same candidate, that had people falling to their knees in worship, during the primaries. Anyone who has an iota of a discerning eye, can see through the fluff and realize that Obama was just getting by because of his a ability to read a prepared speech off of a teleprompter.

That is great for a job a a news anchor. But as a President, we need a little more than that.

I am not a poor sport of Obama. In fact, I originally donated $200 to the Obama campaign many months ago. After pastor Wright jumped out of Obama's closet, & watching all of the media bias regarding Obama, my heels cooled. I became disgusted with the world wide popularity tour, the 2 hour Iraq tour. The styrofoam greek column's confirmed to me that Barack Obama was not the right choice for President.

I am now in the McCain/Palin camp because I believe that they make the most honest leadership course for this country.

My $200--gone. I am voting for my country, not good speeches or charismatic characters, & not a candidate who seeks world-wide popularity status.

Also, do not forget the Presidential seal that he made. How hubristic of him?

It is amazing to me, that this man is able to hoodwink soo many people.

Obama's Presidency is about Obama. It is too bad that other people are still failing to recognize that.

Well since the general consensus seems to be Obama is the Messiah, and not an angel, I'm not sure if he will ever grow wings and spring a halo. Your query requires more in depth theological discussion.

Re: So when does Barack Obama grow wings & a halo?

Obama needs some room to grow, and complete his journey of personal discovery. He can’t be the true Messiah until then. I think he should have the Burning Bush (pun intended) talk to the masses, ala Moses. Maybe a small plague on Republican households? Is stopping the ocean’s rise and healing the planet really enough for a community organizer? I kind of expected more. After all, look at how well the community he organized is doing now.

Actually, the most telling thing about this whole Lib/Con thing is that two separate forums were set up, one to discuss BHO and one to discuss JSM. The libs have exactly six threads here, and only four have been commented on in the last day. The McCain forum on the other hand, is alive with threads, and dripping with lib vitriol, hate, lies and smears. There is no longer even a pretense of lib honesty. They are into pure slash-and-burn hate. Truth doesn’t matter. Decorum doesn’t matter. Hell, civility doesn’t even matter.

The only thing that drives people to such desperation would be raw fear, the knowledge that there is blood in the water and the sharks are sharpening silverware. Obama’s patrons can no longer help him, after bringing him to the front with their behind the scenes dealings. He is now in the Big Leagues. The rhetoric, empty platitudes, smoke, mirrors and Styrofoam columns won’t get him by anymore. The slick, cosmopolitan, six-minute obfuscations will only serve to drive home that there is no substance. There will always be more analysis needed. There will never be a decision to stand by. Such is the Liberal. To say what they stand for honestly, is to commit suicide, as nobody wants to be at the bottom of the Socialistic program that he wants to be at the top. Socialism is great for those at the top, but miserable for those at the bottom. Where do you think YOU will wind up?

The fear is palpable. The Libs know their pants are down. Whirling dervishes and outright, blatant, and irrational attacks only serve to drive more away. Thank you, Libs, for handing the Conservatives an election they theoretically couldn’t have won.

Well said. I have also seen the anger that has mounted over the past week by the Obama camp, since Palin was introduced as McCain's VP. I 've suspected that it is driven by fear. Before Palin, there was this feeling of confidence, but now it has been replaced by anger. Obama supporters are starting to see the election slipping away from them and they are scared. So they have become downright nasty, attacking Palin and McCain from all fronts.

It is a lost cause for them, because the attacks are starting to translate into votes and support for McCain.

Are you just bitter that the best convention bounce McCain could acheive is being only two to four points behind Obama instead of 6-8 points behind? Aw, too bad, so sad.

Which means they are going to fight that much harder for Obama. You don't want the Obama campaign feeling backed into a corner. As I've said many times they are out volunteering the McCain campaign 3 to 1 in most swing states. People talk about all this money Obama is spending and saying "but where is it in the polls" he is spending money on field offices, not on advertisements which is an investment that pays off on election day. There's a reason why Obama out performed polls more often than not in the primary, he has the best turnout operation we've seen in a very very long time. The media can focus on Sarah Palin all they want. Obama volunteers are registering voters, training people on how to take advantage of early voting and getting college kids energized. Paln lead to 10 million dollars in donations in 24 hours. That should scare the GOP.

I am not bitter. Actually, I am happy and optimistic at the way that the election is going.

Just checked the Rasmussen polls which was released at 9:30 today. Obama 46% and McCain 45%. A virtual tie, if you include the margin of error.

Dang, just 59 days before Obama is defeated! The countdown begins.

Re: So when does Barack Obama grow wings & a halo?

Um Rasmussen is reporting that, with leaners, the margin is Obama 49, McCain 46, that's a 1 point improvement for Obama compared to yesterday. Why do you feel the need to lie?

With all of the volunteers that Obama has and as you have noted, he is out-volunteering McCain 3-1 and they are still evenly tied.

Just imagine if McCain had that many volunteers and money. His winning the election would be a sure bet.

The writing is on the wall for Obama. Read it.

We are talking about the actual polls numbers. It is still 46%, 45% and that is how the polls are usually quoted. Leaners can lean anywhere.

Is this truth too much for you?

No, it's NOT how the polls are quoted. Polls include strong support and those who are leaning towards the candidate. Please examine the last few major polls from the national polling agencies that report "leaners" Fox News is one. The "leaners" are part of the overall total because they probably will end up voting for that candidate come election day. For example, realclearpolitics.com reports every poll every day and they list the Rasmussen polls "with leaners." Sorry.

Maybe you only read a portion of the paragraph I wrote. Volunteering doesn't show up in polls because it's not about "changing minds" as it is about super maximizing existing support. Registering voters, getting cell phones, expanding caller lists, expanding donor lists etc. etc. etc. All of these things show up on election day, but not in the polls.
