should you really be interested in actually knowing something rather than throwing a little mud around you can start with IRS Publication 463. It's titled "Travel, Entertainment, Gift, and Car Expenses." In many cases reporting perdiem and other travel reimbursements is simply not required. Think maybe some fact gathering regarding the travel policies of the State of Alaska would be in order before one makes assumptions based on political motivations.

I don't recall writing the story. Perhaps you should take that up with those that did?
