Johnston speaks on Bristol Palin, Obama and baby

Johnston speaks on Bristol Palin, Obama and baby - Yahoo! News

Not surprisingly, Johnston was a little shocked when he learned about Bristol's pregnancy, but he says he quickly embraced the prospects of fatherhood. The baby is due Dec. 18. Johnston has dropped out of high school to take a job on the North Slope oil fields as an apprentice electrician.

While Johnston provided few details about next summer's wedding, the planning has started

If getting married before the baby is born is not important to them then he should finish High School first.

I have to wonder if the wedding will still take place if McCain/Palin lose the election.

Here is my reaction to this: of course the McCain campaign didn't tell him to say this.

And I don't have to wonder at all whether BHO's kids would be getting an abortion were they in the same boat.

So sad. Dropping out of high school is not a great way to start out in supporting a family.

It wouldn't be your business if Obama's daughters ever did have an abortion. Jeez. Besides we know that Michelle and Barack will teach their kids how to use condoms.

And now he tells us that he’s the one who’s gonna take on the old boys' network,” he said. “In the McCain campaign that’s called a staff meeting!- Obama, 9/17/2008

If you must talk about Obama's kids then please start a thread in the proper place.

I said nothing about abortion nor did I say anything against these two.
Please try to stay on topic.

Re: Johnston speaks on Bristol Palin, Obama and baby

I hope the young father will at least get a GED soon so he will be able to go to college at some point. I am also glad he and Bristol are waiting to get married. They are very young and they will change a lot - how they view themselves and how they view the world - over the next five years. They need to know they are growing in the same direction before they make this sort of commitment.

Re: Johnston speaks on Bristol Palin, Obama and baby

Why is this thread in a political forum? Are Johnson or Bristol now running for office?

Matt

Well, both these kids are receiving all kinds of guidance so that they become good window dressing for the campaign and promote Palin/McCain's chances of winning.

If only they had received such attentive guidance in their formative years....

My final thought is... who cares what happens to them? Johnson will be a Joe Six Pack pretty soon.....maybe a Joe 12-pack..... or maybe a Joe Daniels... Hopefully he and Bristol raise their kids better than their parents did.

But it is hard, physical labor and he will one day be older and in need of less taxing tasks. Lack of HS and college will also hold him back from advancing into management type positions in his field later. I am looking out for him in the same way I would look out for one of my (similar aged) grandchildren.

Electrician isn't all that physical and once he's sick of the cold he can work anywhere. The trades pay better than you suspect and you don't need to advance to make a good living.

I only highlighted it and made it red. I guess I should have increased the font as well.
