IIRC, the G3 used 7.62, vice the 5.56 of the G36.

BTW, if you don't mind my asking, what did you do in the Bundeswehr?

Yep. the ammu does the difference, but never shot 7.62 from a military rifle myself.

Concerning your question... halb Mensch, halb Tier - ein Panzergrenadier! ;-)

But only the 11 month in military service...

Not sure I didn't already say this but when I was in the army one of our training NCO's was a gun nut, he brought his Tommy gun to the M-16 range one time, and let us all try it out. NOw that was fun!

Ohhhhh. Tommy has got to be fun to shoot.

I wouldn't mind shooting the .30 Gatling gun they shoot on Mythbusters every once in a while. 50 rounds/second has got to add up quickly though.

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

Is it possible to buy a 12 gauge feeding magazine for an ordinary 4 or 5 shot semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun?

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

There are a few 12 gauge shotguns that feed from a box magazine, but they're not really ordinary. I think the Saiga-12 is pretty easy to find.

I was thinking more of a universal box magazine that can be inserted into a ordinary classic semi-auto hunting shotgun.

Maybe I could get one made especially for me, and attach it with gaffa tape...

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

You might need to go with Super-Glue. The tape might get in the way of the ejection port or the action.

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

Take a look at this new type of pistol from FN! First time Ive ever seen a handgun that uses rifle like ammo, and it holds 20 of them!

It also uses a firing pin instead of a hammer...

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

I heard about that handgun a couple of years ago when the Brady Bunch was trying to outlaw them before we were even importing them. They came up with this cheesy video about how the bullets could just slice right thru body-armor. Total crap. It was so bad they pulled it off their website, but here's Carl Levin trying to whip up hysterics over the FN Five-seveN:

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

This is my HBAR-15. It has a carbon receiver, a 28 inch heavy barrel, a wilson bipod, a picatinny rail system, and it drives tacks at 300 yards.

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

That's a sweet piece. It's a shame about the caliber, but other than that, it's rather impressive.
