Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

Yeah, occasionally you'll find a MAC-10 for the "bargain" price of 4k.

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

I rather enjoy the SKS.

Cheap.

Utilitarian.

Effective.

Makes a lot of noise.

Much fun.

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

I like the Glock 27 a lot.

It's small, light, and easily concealed, but packs a punch and has a decent magazine capacity. I've been carrying it for a few years now, and I don't see any reason to change

Re: Whats your favorite firearm?

I think the smoothest handgun I've shot yet is the .357 Python. Enjoyed that the most. I didn't like the little 9mm I shot, it felt too "peppy", too odd. The Desert Eagle .50 scared the hell out of me.

My favorite of all, because all I do is target shoot occasionally, is the Ruger 10-.22. Just fun for plinking at the paper, nice simple reloading, inexpensive ammunition, and fun

Being an ex Infantryman I am a sucker for the m4 (the m240B is great fun to shoot but man is it a pain in the ass to carry around)

It's because there are a lot of them on the market (it’s probably the most common Pre-86 class III firearm available) and because they’re cheaply made. It’s basically a polished M-3 Grease Gun, the bolt is about the only part in it that’s machined, the rest stamped sheet metal. Back in the day (’86 when I got mine) the class III version was selling for $500 - $600. That was the best investment I've made.

I've had a couple, the worst shooters I've ever used. Cyclic rate is so high it takes a lot of practice to hit anything.

Geee! Tethys, even in the darkly violent side of your nature that you have now revealed to us all, you are still environmentally conscious.

When I use my pistol I don't aim at anything, I'm well aware that you never point a cap pistol at anyone, unless you mean to use it. It's a shame they don't manufacture a cap rifle - I could pretend to be Rifle(wo)man!

It’s a lightweight gun with a heavy bolt going back and forth over 1000 times a minute. Controllability is not one of its strong suits, especially if it’s a .45 like mine. I got it in early ’87 because I knew the market was screwed, and I could get the signatures. It wasn’t exactly my dream gun, but it was all I could afford at the time. Still, its small size, light weight, and high cyclic rate make it one of the best guns around for clearing a room, as long as there’s nothing in it you don’t mind hitting, like hostages.

One of my dogs can clear a room in a minute. We don't mention how, it embarrasses him!
