Re: What's in you CD player right now?
First of all, I have to admit I haven't been listening to the White Stripes since their first album (not that I didn't like them, just never got to it), so my point of view is not of an original fan (actually, I've listening to them from last to first album). This said, I think Icky Thump is as good as any other (and better than some).

I love those songs....love the whole album, though at the moment I'm slightly obsessed with Little Cream Soda. Actually, its not just at the moment, its more of a while now, lol. Oh Well, Oh Well, Oh Well.

Dimmu Borgir - Indoctrination.
The song cracks me up. Starts out blazing fast then suddenly stops with some orchestra. It is brilliantly well placed and the singer starts laughing with you.

Noir Désir - Marlène

Re: What's in you CD player right now?
Django Rienhardt and Stephan Grappelli - "Le Quintette de Hot Club de France"
Violinist Grappelli is more famous but Reinhardt is the force in this band. He was a gypsy guitar player who may have been the greatest jazz guitarist ever. Even more amazing because the 3rd and 4th fingers of his left hand were paralyzed by burns - he had to relearn the instrument afterward. The record is a collection of recordings they made from '34 to '40. May have been the first jazz combo to regularly play with no horns or percussion.

Lamento della Nympha - Monteverdi
Edit: Video is an extract of Eugene Green's film, Le Pont des Arts, Natacha Régnier's face doesn't hurt the music any... Last edited by AdrienXII; 09-23-2007 at 03:25 PM. |

At the moment it's Lyle Lovett (Live In Texs), Uncle Plum (Uncle Plum), Stevie Ray Vaughan (Couldn't Stand The Weather), ELP ( Welcome Back My Friends...), and Aerosmith (Greatest Hits)...
