I used to work at a local amphitheater when I was younger, so I would see a variety of performers who came to town, including the Lolapalooza fest.

But the last concert I actually paid to see was a performance by N.W.A, Too Short, Sir Mix-A-Lot, J.J. Fad, and D.O.C. That was way back in 1989.

Perlman came to wyoming? I'm jealous. He'll be in NYC next year and tickets are going for over $450. I'm afraid I won't be there.

Goodness, no. I live in Florida now. I have Miami on one end, Tampa and Orlando on the other. lol...last concert I saw in Wyoming was Brian Adams.
I bought the Perlman and Galway tickets as a package and got a great deal front and center. Neither concert was really great though.

Re: Your last concert ?

This is going to make me sound older than dirt, but ....

The last concert I went to was to see Rain at the Warner Theater in DC. Rain is a Beatles tribute band, with all members having a physical resemblance to the Fab Four (aided at times by wigs!), and the music was very, very good. From the moment they started playing, I had a big grin on my face.

I had the feeling, listening to them go from She Loves You to The Long and Winding Road, that I was listening to the Beatles themselves. We had a great time.

Warner Theater, a really nice theater - we've seen several shows there.

Rain - if you get a chance, they do a helluva good job with some very good music.

Re: Your last concert ?

"Concert"? I can't remember. I rarely go to big venues anymore. Beck w/ The Flaming Lips at the Hammerstein Ballroom a few years ago. Seeing bands play at bars is a different story. Curtis Suburban at The Continental, about a month ago. I wouldn't exactly call that a "concert", though....

edit: just remembered that I saw Queens of the Stone Age in Hartford, I think it was last year. Awsome show.

You're kidding! That's less than a dollar more than a movie ticket. Man...we are getting old.

Re: Your last concert ?

Haven't been to a concert in a while... The closing band for the "vieilles charrues" festival this summer was The Infadels. It was so good that I bought the CD. But the CD is crap. They're only good on stage.

Another noticeable band at this festival was a punk quintet from eastern europe (one polish, one or 2 russians, etc). They had animal masks. The singer had a monkey mask and most songs were about bananas. The chicken-masked one's only purpose was to create some movement in the pit. Great show, even though the music was the worst crap I ever heard.
