the first post might as well have been

Dave Grohl
Some Guy
Some Other Guy

it really doesn't matter who he plays with since he's going to be better at playing their instruments than they are anyway.

Josh Homme = best known as front man for Queens of the Stone Age, member of other groups as well.
JPJ = bass player/keyboardist for Led Zepplin, record producer

Grohl is a great drummer and songwriter, and an all around cool guy. He's certainly not known for his guitar or bass playing though.

There's a good chance you won't like Them Crooked Vultures.

Yeah, I stopped liking mtv about 5 years after it launched.

No idea, certainly not my favorite song, at all. Not my favorite album either. That was probably their only "hit", by MTV standards. And I hardly think they count teeny boppers as their fan base.

Someone who truly hates mtv wouldn't even know that. I didn't even know Queens of the Stone Age had a video. MTV still plays videos? lol... Just curious, how many QOTSA videos do they play, compared to someone like, say, Foo Fighters?

Ahh....what was the song, completely slipped my mind. No One Knows, that was it. Actually a funny video, I enjoyed it. But you know...Homme and everything, lol.

i mean the song was big back in like 03 or something. when you're living in a dorm it's tough to escape the occasional inadvertent glimpse of mtv.

They had one hit song 6 years ago, and for that they "suck"? Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that seems a harsh judgement based on one song.

You stopped liking "the mtv brand of rock" when you were 19... care to elaborate on that? Do you not like commercial stuff? What exactly do you like?

The reason I ask is because you apparently like Dave Grohl (because he's a good instrumentalist). But I'm guessing Foo Fighters get waaaaay more airtime on mtv then QOTSA. Seems a bit hypocritical to like Grohl (extremely commercial and radio-friendly) on the one hand, and to claim you don't like commercial rock on the other hand.

Perhaps I'm reading too much in to your short comments.
