You stopped liking "the mtv brand of rock" when you were 19... care to elaborate on that? Do you not like commercial stuff? What exactly do you like?

The reason I ask is because you apparently like Dave Grohl (because he's a good instrumentalist). But I'm guessing Foo Fighters get waaaaay more airtime on mtv then QOTSA. Seems a bit hypocritical to like Grohl (extremely commercial and radio-friendly) on the one hand, and to claim you don't like commercial rock on the other hand.

Perhaps I'm reading too much in to your short comments.
lol. perhaps.

Re: Them Crooked Vultures

mostly electronica (i listen to a lot of house/electro/trance although most of the artists i listen to consistently don't really fit into any one particular genre.

i also like hip hop but most of the stuff that's popular i've never really been into. i used to listen to a lot of classic rock (still do but not as much) and now i listen to a lot of what i guess you could call acid rock...or something (i.e. ween).

That's cool, I listen to some electronic stuff, but I couldn't name most of it... I just tune in to various internet radio stations. Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method... recently discovered LCD Soundsystem.

And I love Ween. Fucking awesome. Another couple of very talented guys, who are also involved in all kinds of side projects and guest appearances.

Stream the full album here:

YouTube - 01 ~ No One Loves Me & Neither Do I

I'm listening to it now at work, not bad on the first listen. I'll probably buy it on my way home from work tomorrow.

Re: Them Crooked Vultures

Picked it up at Best Buy, on sale for $9.99.

Very happy. Just listening to the last track, my first real listen through the whole cd, on headphones. I came in my pants at some point.

Sounds like Queens Of The Stone Age, if they had formed in 1969, and broke up in the late 70's... this would be their "best of" album.

And it's raunchy.

IMOHO, Homme usually is.

I think this will be the first CD I have bought in a while and not downloaded from itunes (take THAT, Speakeasy).

BTW, by "raunchy", I was referring to the overall sound of the album, very grungy, fuzzy, dirty sounding. I haven't read the lyrics yet, but I'm sure they're raunchy as well.

Since I know you're a fan of QOTSA, I can safely say that it will be money well spent on your part if you buy this CD.

Well I listened to it the other day when you posted the link and really liked what I heard so I'm sure it will be.
