Apparently there are guest vocalists on "Mojo Man" (damned sure isn't Jimi) and I'm not sure who he's playing with but it's smokin'!

ahoy all,
i hate sayin' this, because i know its a kind 'o heresy, but i never understood the fascination with Mr. Hendrix and his style 'o playin'.
to me own ears, he was very sloppy.
still, good news fer his fans, i suppose.
aye.

I don’t know the background that informs your criticism, matey, but I think you could say that of practically all of the rock guitarists of Hendrix’s [or any?] era. With some notable exceptions, a fair number of these guys lacked formal musical training and could barely read music.
Sloppy or no, Hendrix was doing things with the electric guitar [no, I’m not talking about burning them on stage lol] that was way ahead of his time. Sloppy or no, Hendrix was quite the innovator and let’s not forget that guitar wizardry was only part of his music.
Was Hendrix as clean as a classical or a jazz guitar virtuoso? No, but plug Joe Pass into a stack of Marshall amps, in full distortion mode, and he would have looked [and sounded] a little silly.
Musical apples and oranges, matey.

must be a liberal thing for both you and US Citizen are pissing on the left handed gods grave.... different strokes i guess.... sure you love somebody i would say is lame
for me the album is downloaded .... i am rocking it now... and it is another reason whilst you and i would never be able to go to a bar and share a beer... it would probably have to be your bar and we would have to listen to sitars or something whilst wearing a peace symbol around my neck...![]()
Awsome thank you Lutherf saw jimi back in the day best concert ever

ahoy Rakkasan,
oh, no doubt...enjoyin' music be a highly personal thing, i agree.
imma sure thar be music i love that ye would find hateful.
i played fer a number 'o years, and as a guitarist meself, i never understood the accolades that Mr. Hendrix received.

ahoy Darth Hussein Omar,
i played fer around 12 years or so, and be self taught. i favored Fenders, me favorite was me Telecaster Starburst, a 1962 re-issue...i also own a Rickenbacker 360, blonde. i own a bunch 'o other guitars, but them be favorite. the amp i favored was me Roland Jazz Chorus, so maybe 'tis just that i just sorta prefer a cleaner sound. imma just a hack, of course, but i've some familiarity.
i think ye can play with distortion and feedback, usin' a wall 'o Marshall stacks, and still play cleanly. Mr. Van Halen certainly managed to do so. i wasn't a big fan 'o his band or his music, but we're just talkin' about guitar playin', aye?
though i don't follow his music any longer, when i think 'o great rock guitar virtuosos Mark Knopfler comes to mind, not Jimi Hendrix.
aye.

While I much favor the guitar of Chet Atkins, I can appreciate Hendricks talent.

I love listening to Chet Atkins or Doc Watson or Les Paul or Pat Metheny or any of countless other great guitarists there is something about Hendrix that makes him stand out just as much. He'd make that Stratocaster do things that one would think it was never intended to do and working with Mitch Mitchell or Buddy Miles it was like he was ripping the beat to shreds. There was nothing "polite" about his playing. It was pure emotion and the only word I can think of to describe it is "selfish" but not in a bad way. It was like "This is me, take it or leave it but I'm giving it all away."
