What has happened to my google earth

I downloaded GoogleEarth about a month ago. It functioned perfectly. I went to look for it today and the Icon was gone. Theres still a file for it in the download section but all that does is send me back to the download page. I have redownloaded it twice and there is no change.

I am using Windows Vista on a nearly new ASUS CG5290 with an Intel I7 920 CPU and an nVidiaGTX260 graphics card.

Any ideas, the tech boards either don't know or haven't answered yet. I have some hints that Google has issues with Vista but doesn't everything?

There is also a very vague idea I've heard that Google Earth was somehow incorporated into some other Google function, possibly Google Maps, but there is nothing about that on the GoogleEarth download page.

Ideas? Thanks very much

I could just be Vista. That OS is complete and total garbage. For our business, my mom went out and got a laptop with Vista on it. GARBAGE. programs just quit working out of the blue for no apparent reason (and with no fix). GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE. We use some software for ALL of our stuff that we print. EVERYTHING. Labels, brochures, sales packets, catalogs... EVERYTHING. And one day just out of the blue, that entire program quits working. Called the company and the Indian guy said that it was Vista. (surprise surprise) No fix for it, nothing we can do other than find another software program and redo everything. (and hope and pray that it doesn't happen again)

I am about to back up everything, wipe it clean and just install XP.

I have always heard that Vista was garbage... now I know for a fact.

I have Google Earth... just checked. It is working fine.

Did I mention that I HATE Vista?

Re: What has happened to my google earth

I've got Vista on my laptop (the computer I'm on right now), and I've not had a single problem with it.

It runs Google Earth perfectly...

Perhaps you downloaded a trial version by mistake?
