The two best TV programs are True Blood and ummm...I don't care much for TV. But if HBO ever decides to bring back Deadwood, that will be the second best program.

Forgot about True Blood. That, too. And I do enjoy Realtime with Bill Maher.

They fit my interests and they are so much better than any fictional drama that I can find on TV.

A lot of the HBO stuff doesn't really qualify as a TV program....but from there, I really loved Band of Brothers.....and for laughs, it's hard to beat Flight of the Conchords.

Band of Brothers was one of the most amazing war series ever. The drama and character development alone is phenomenal. The show intentionally makes you want to be in a foxhole with each one of those guys.

Flight of the Conchords is pretty hilarious.

From thier perspective, the 2 best shows may have been "Grab That Dough" and "Jeopardy". Or is there a more favored show I am missing?

Sometimes I'll sit with the kids and change it to animal planet or something they can actually learn something from so they're not filling their brains with too much sponge-bob.

I can't imagine anything worse than thinking Glenn Beck is the best thing on television. Well that's not quite true, I could imagine a channel promoting child pornography and that would probably be worse. However that is a fictional scenario so I guess it doesn't count.

Does the Sci Fi channel make bad movies on purpose? Wow are they dependably bad. Like worse than Showgirls bad. Not sure why I watch them..

There are seven seasons of great shows! I have the first 4 seasons on DVD.

I wish. Do you really think govt ownership of GM and Chrysler, plus the Green Police are going to make that any better? As far as I can tell we make one supercar, the Corvette ZR1. Hell, we cant even sell some good Fords here, like the Focus RS. But yeah, Top Gear has made me aware of how crappy our cars are. I now love the Ferrari 599.

Yes, I would keep both, but Firefly is one of the best shows of recent memory. Perhaps the short run made it better though.

I liked Firefly better as well, but Dollhouse really got interesting once the decision to cancel it was final. I guess at that point the creators can quit dinking around trying to please the network and merely focus on good story-telling.

It's the same sort of chicken and egg dilemma we see in politics. Are the outliers free to speak truth to power because they have nothing to lose? Or are they outliers because speaking the truth is ultimately unpopular. Hmmmmm
