Glad you're doing better and got the care you needed.3 weeks ago I lost my job to third world slave labor and I lost my benefits as I could not afford Cobra care. 2 days ago, I had an abscess rupture causing a small fracture in my skull near the roof of my mouth. I had to be taken by ambulance to the emergency room where they stalled when they found out I had no insurance. When the swelling got really bad on my face, they finally brought me in for an x-ray which showed the tiny hairline fracture. They brought me into surgery immediately and removed the rest of my tooth.
I asked the receptionist what the bill might look like to see if I could possibly attempt to pay, but she said between the ambulance (5k for a 5 minute ride) and emergency costs--another 3k plus surgery which is anywhere from 10-15k it will be way out of reach.
I filled out charity care forms.....thank you tax payers for paying my medical costs. You will also be paying for my subsequent follow-ups.
For those who may be against nationalized health care, the joke is on you because regardless of how you feel, you will always be paying for other people's medical bills. That is unless there are those who feel I should have stayed home and suffered and possibly died from infection.
Nationalizing healthcare would reduce the costs of situations like mine.
