Isn't that the truth. I live in PA, and and I lived in Harrisburg for years and many sections of the state. They stink everywhere. It was embarrassing to drive to places like Morgantown, WV, from Harrisburg at 65 bumps per minute until you hit MD and WV, and all of a sudden you feel like you are driving on a silver platter by comparison. Given the size and population of PA compared to them, there is no excuse for it.

What's that old saying about glass houses?
Good point, and that is the reason why Byrd hasn't had and won't have problems when it comes to his former KKK membership. Southern areas know the ugly past and alot feel it is wrong to throw stones in glass houses given the feelings were pervasive back then. But if a person has long renounced that stuff and moved on, they get grace for it today by constituents as they also want to move on. One of the top echelon of SCOTUS Justices, Hugo Black, was himself a KKK member early in life who renounced it and felt very ashamed about it later, and he turned out to be a very competent and influencial Justice.

So, Byrd was re-elected. Guess what? So was Trent Lott! How many times again did the GOP re-elect Strom Thurmond? Take your mud and use it to cover your glass house sweety.....
