Are you sure? What if they regard one of their opinions much more highly than the others? Wouldn't they perhaps in that instance vote not on the basis of the "majority of their opinions"?

Yes, we can agree on that.

I understand. I was just trying to demonstrate how opinions form people's votes. Votes are merely a formal, finalized way of someone expressing their personal opinions on the matter.

Which is another reason why pre-election opinion polls are of so little worth.
I agree. I apologize if I implied that I thought otherwise.

Plus there's what we might call the Kerry Factor. For months and months now, the mainstream media, carrying the water for the Democrat Party as always, has presented poll after poll as if it were "news". On the contrary, it was manufactured "news", designed to suppress the GOP vote and discourage the Republicans. And the foolish Democrats actually began to believe that manufactured "news" was going to propel them to victory.

Then Kerry opened his yap.

Suddenly the American Voter was reminded what the Democrat Party thinks about our military, and was reminded that the Democrat Party has opposed the war on Muslim Terrorism at every turn. And was reminded of those two highly relevent facts just prior to Election Day.

And suddenly all those happy-sounding (from a Demmie perspective) polls were pretty meaningless, and Democrat Party operatives had to scramble to hide Kerry from public view, and Democrat candidates began canceling Kerry's campaign appearances on their behalf left and right.
In your opinion.

Sorry, let me restate:

They will push the button (most don't have levers anymore) of the candidate who supports the majority of their opinions on these matters or shares their opinion on a subject that matters greatly to them.

Okay, but are you asking for a vertical or horizontal split?

Well Freckles, it appears as though Speakeasy has pretty much schooled you on that matter, so I'll let it be.

And besides, I have a funny feeling that you tend to vote Democrat.
Really? What on earth gave it away? Could it possibly have been the first post of this thread, where I said "Just to be clear on where I stand: I would like nothing more than to boot the Reps out of both houses." Damn, I thought I had everyone fooled. Your powers of observation are obviously finely honed.

And because you do, you post posts commenting about other posters' supposed feelings, rather than discuss the issues they raise. How typically Democrat of you.
Yes, from your two days here, I'm sure you have observed the many 'feelings' based posts that I have made. You know what? We weren't having any problems with the discussion in this thread until you came along. Now, who is basing the discussion on feelings?

Technically, the only way to "split" a hair is lengthwise, otherwise you are simply "cutting" hairs, and anyone can do that!

Great post, shame to see some didn't get the joke.
