Re: Democrats: Prepare yourselves for upset

Speakeasy says that "it is a lock". Sorry but people like him are as dangerous as Kerry on the stump. Keep telling me it's a lock. My republican neighbor has been telling me that for a week in the hope that I will believe him and not bother to vote. He does not know that I have already voted (mail in ballot) and that I am working on that lock. Only if all of us democrats work our butts off between now and when the polls close in your district can it become a lock. GO AND VOTE! Distribute pamphlets, knock on doors reminding your neighbors what a good fellow/lady your candidate is. Drive people to the polls. Make sure somebody checks to see that there are enough voting machines in Democratic districts! (A favored ploy) Scream loud early in the morning if there are not enough machines. Not at 5PM, it's too late than. Etc. Etc. To not do any of these things and we could again be in for a surprise. In 2004 Democrats in Ohio started screaming in the afternoon about the lack of voting machines in Dem strongholds. Too late, they needed to do that at 7AM. Would it have made a difference? I don't know. We will not make that mistake again but there are plenty of others we also need to avoid. So lets all get out and do our thing!

If its true that liberalism supports indivdualism and that in turn is against conformity, and voting is something alot of people do so it is conformist, then the liberals who are "individual non-confromists" wont want to vote and the GOP wins again. I am not saying you or all of the Democrats are this way but this is why alot of liberals dont vote..maybe

Oh, thaaaaat Speakeasy comment. Well, on that, I agree with Speakeasy 100%. The return of the Democrats to absolute power will usher in decades of peace and prosperity the world over. It has been foretold in the prophecies.

Re: Democrats: Prepare yourselves for upset

It just feels like this time that there isn't much that could possibly happen that won't take the house away from the Democrats. A couple of weeks ago they were poised to take about 20 seats away from the Republicans, but now the polls are showing there could be a wave about as big as 1994.

The biggest thing to watch will be the senate races in Missouri and Virginia, where two Republicans are on the hot seat. If the Dems win those two, they could take the senate by one seat.

Election night will definitely show the Dems taking the house, but the senate is where all the excitement will be, and might take days or weeks to figure out.

What are people thinking of celebrating? It looks like it will be a mixed bag.

Glad to see someone is paying attention, doniston. You have to be pretty quick to catch that Speakeasy humor sometimes.

I don't think you should believe every poll but I like watching to see what the predictions are and how they compare to the outcome. I love shows like Washington Week, Hardball, and The McLaughlan Group and comparing predictions and such. I don't expect them to be right but it's fun to see.

I'll probably flip through the sunday morning talk shows tommorow, see what they're saying. I'll be pretty much glued to the T.V. Tuesday night.
