Not at all; I'm as independent as they get.

But, in the short time I've been here, it's pretty easy to guess who'll jump on the "Freak Bandwagon" at the mere mention of a Democrat's name...

One thing I will say: I like the fact that Obama doesn't take himself too seriously. Anyone else see his spot before Monday Night Football?

True, but the same can be said about Republicans too.

The difference is that Republicans get pretty twisted in a hurry. It's funny to watch...

Ooh man, you should have seen some of the others a few months back.....I'd post shit just to get them going.

I have to admit though, I get randy when the feathers are fluffed.....Not sure if it's because of my political stance though, I'd say it's just in my blood...

Re: I can listen to Barak Obama speak all day long

Obama likes girls. That's all that needs to be said. He doesn't stand up there piously denouncing gay marriage while getting some from a male prostitute or pursuing pages on the side.

If inexperience were any standard, George W. Bush would have to be graded about equally then, other than his term as governor of Texas, which, incidentally, ought to have given Bush the experience of balancing budgets but, so much for experience.

Interesting logic. So, you loathe GW Bush and think he is incompetent. Yet you would accept a candidate that was only as qualified experientially. hmmm... seems like quite a double standard you have there.

A double standard would be one standard for one group (Republicans) and another for another group (Democrats). I think that if anyone is applying a double standard, it would be Bush supporters who are making noise about Obama's level of experience.

But if one applies the same standard to both groups, and using Bush as an example, we can see that the degree to which someone has "experience" doesn't seem to be a huge barrier to becoming President. In the 2000 Presidential election, and looking at public service, Gore had 8 years as Vice-President and several terms as a Congressman as well as two terms as a US Senator, vs. Bush's 8 years as the governor of Texas.

Of course, using Bush as an example is a bit unfair. Yes, he's incompetent, but I don't think that any amount of previous experience would have helped raise his level of competence as President.

Oh, I didn't realize that you could buy a governership! That sounds great. Ya know, I do have some extra cash...... How much for a small state, like Rhode Island?

Whatever you are smoking, can I have some? I'll meet you in Compton and I am willing to pay......

8 years as a gov. beats even 20 years in the senate or congress imho any day…...and that includes slick willie....despite his short coming’s.. ( and as garner said the VP pos. is like a pitcher of warm spit, useless to everyone)....that’s why there have only been 2 senators elected as presidents…most people see a sitting or former governor as a more reliable indicator than sitting on the senate…or being a congressman…despite your apparent dislike for Bush he didn’t do as badly as some as Gov. of Texas…

He was the former advisor to Clit-on.....And after listening to him, he is definitely a Democrat of the liberal species.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you, and the experience one usually gains as governor outweighs the experience as Senator, at least in the eyes of voters. But Gore also had 8 years as Vice-President, and while the experience gained (through the duties and responsibilities of the office) by any individual vice-president has varied greatly over the years, Gore was a very active and involved Vice-President. I think that Gore's overall experience was significantly better than Bush's because of his 8 years as Vice-President.

As for the Garner quote, it's a classic. But he was one of FDR's opponents in the '32 election, and then became FDR's VP. They often disagreed on policy, and I suspect that FDR did not share the responsibilities with Garner as Clinton did with Gore.

Lastly, "apparent dislike for Bush" .... at this point, and I would not have thought it possible, Bush has surpassed Nixon as the worst President of my lifetime.
