Re: Fox News.... WOW
All news is biased to some degree.
FOX's agenda is to go after ratings and entertain the public. Their reports are "based on a true story", but then they add about 60% commentary, conjecture and opinion. The stories they run are similar to all the other networks, but they strive to add better looking female reporters, more sensationalist commentary, and more repetition of their own talking points. I always get the feeling that they are trying to convince me of something when I watch FOX. I consider myself intelligent enough to draw my own conclusions based on facts and that's probably why I watch FOX only occasionally for a good laugh.
That said, other news agencies also have agendas, but I have never seen any of them quite sell out quite as much as FOX to put entertainment and ratings above the integrity of the news. Their slogan "Fair and Balanced" is a joke. It's essentially Tabloid TV catering to the lower common denominator of the American public who perhaps prefer to be told what they want to hear rather than draw their own conclusions about the realities of the world.
This sums up how I feel after watching about 10 minutes of one FOX News' opinion shows:
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
